Full Sail's Pub Series Double Bock

Full Sail Brewing Co. just announced that Double Bock is the latest release in its rotating Pub Series. The brewery sent me a sample and here are my tasting notes:

Dark brown in color with reddish highlights visible when held up to the light. It has a tan head that dissipates slowly. Aroma of coffee, chocolate, and a hint of smoke. The taste starts with a wave of chocolate. In the middle, roasted malt and coffee come through. I also noticed light notes of raisin and a soft brown sugar sweetness. There's some light earthy hop notes, but overall bitterness is low. Double Bock is light bodied, moderately carbonated and finishes with coffee and a touch of smoke.

If you drink Double Bock, I suggest you let the beer warm to room temperature, as it will allow the different flavors to shine through. Double Bock should be available through the end of April.

Full Sail Brewing adds Double Bock to their Pub Series line up

Hood River, Oregon – Full Sail Brewing has just announced the release Double Bock in their rotating line of classic beers called the Full Sail Pub Series

“After a long day on the mountain carving turns, snowboarders and skiers make their way down the mountain to warm up and relive all those great runs in our Brew Pub. Our Double Bock helps fuel the stories of deep powder and epic yard sales. It’s lush and full-bodied with hints of caramel, coffee and chocolate in the aroma followed by flavors of caramel and dried figs with a long creamy smooth finish. Brewed with 2 row Pale, Munich, Caramel, and Chocolate Malts and hopped with Santiam and Perle hops,” said Jamie Emmerson, Full Sail’s Executive Brewmaster.  This gold medal winner will be available in six packs on draft. ABV 7.0% IBU 34

“Anyone lucky enough to stop for a pint at our Pub in Hood River, Oregon, will tell you: It’s a spectacular place to share a beer with friends. The Full Sail Pub Series is our attempt to capture that experience a bottle and share it with all our customers who have not had a chance to visit us first hand. We can offer you a taste of our Pub in this rotating series of classic beers previously enjoyed only by our guests at the brewery. Each selection will be available for only 90 days before the next gets its turn to shine. Just like each epic season in the Gorge,” added Irene Firmat, Full Sail Brewing Company’s Founder and CEO.
