Description:Sterling Pils is a German-style Pilsner brewed with North
American ingredients — including Sterling hops from Washington, Premium Pilsner
malt from Montana and Idaho, and some of the best brewing water in the world
from the Pacific Northwest. — Ninkasi Brewing Co.
The tasting: Bright yellow golden in color, clear, with a white head that dissipates slowly. Aroma of grain, corn, and hay. Taste is similar to aroma with addition grassy and spicy hops as well as a touch of lemon. Alcohol is not noticeable in aroma or flavor and hop bitterness is moderate. Sterling is light bodied, has an effervescent mouth feel, and finishes with grainy malt and spicy hops.
Rating: 3 star. Good. I would drink this again if someone gives it to me. Sterling is light, crisp and refreshing—perfect for summer! It's nice to see more Oregon breweries adding lagers to their lineups. I need to try Lady Avalon and Helles Belles, two of Ninkasi's other Prismatic releases.
Have you tasted Ninkasi's Sterling or any of the other Prismatic lager? How did you like them?
