Description:  "Never Summer Ale is our 'aggressive' winter seasonal  Deep ruby red in color.  Assertively hopped and brewed with dark caramel malt.  For the drinking town with a skiing problem." — Boulder Beer Co.

Random thoughts:   I received this beer as part of my subscription to Beer of the Month Club.  Never Summer is part of Boulder Beer's Looking Glass series of limited edition brews.  Boulder is also the brewer of Hazed & Infused, one of my few 5 star rated beers.

The tasting:  Deep reddish orange in color with an off-white head.  It's a gorgeous color.  It's clear and the bubbles of effervescence sparkle as they float to the top.  Aroma of sweet toasted malts, and hops (though not overpowering).  I didn't smell or taste the "secret" spices.   Flavor of rich caramel malt is front and center.  Hop flavor is not strong.  Medium bodied, with a smooth mouth feel, with a bit of sweetness in the finish.

Rating:  4 star.  Really Good.  I want this again!  Never Summer reminded me of Widmer's Brrr.  While Brrr has a more hoppy edge, I believe Never Summer is more malt forward brew.  Both are great!
