Review: Beer of the Month Club

This year I received a few beer-related gifts for Christmas.  My brother-in-law gave us a subscription to the Beer of the Month Club.  This was the PERFECT gift for me!  With all of the great beer available in Portland, I never thought about buying a subscription for myself.  However, this will provide a great opportunity for me to try beer that's not available in my area!

We got the Variety pack which includes twelve, 12 oz beers from two domestic and two international breweries.  Each shipment contains 4 different styles and has three bottles of each.  The shipment arrived by UPS.  As you can see in the shots below, the beer was very well packaged and arrived with no damage.

The club included detailed information about each brewer as well as the individual beers.

My shipment included the following beers.  I will post detailed reviews for each:

Has anyone tasted beer from these breweries?  Or have you received beer from a club?  If so, please let me know what you thought about it.

2/20/11 update:   Full Disclosure.   I have really enjoyed the Beer of the Month Club and am happy to recommend them based on my great experience.  I enjoyed it so much that I became an affiliate partner of the club.  So what does that mean?  If you purchase a club membership using one of the links on my site, the Beer of the Month Club will pay me a referral fee (equivalent to a six pack of really good craft beer).  This results in no additional cost to you. Just to be very clear, I do not accept fees or any form of compensation for any of my beer reviews.

9/1/12 update:  Beer of The Month Club is offering special discounts for readers of this blog. To get these discounts for any of their programs (including The Rare Beer Club), visit their site via the links in this post and enter one of the following codes during the checkout process!

  1. TriFecta has sampled the Mojo IPA by Boulder Brewing ... it's outstanding. Of course, TriFecta is partial to IPAs.

  2. Try Boulder's Hazed & Infused. It's one of my three 5 star rated beers. I have not tried Mojo, but will on you recommendation. They make great beer.

  4. For large portions of the general population that appreciate lager preparing, this leisure activity has turned into a fixation. They have expound lager preparing gear set ups and routinely blend either fractional pound or all grain formulas.
