Random thoughts:   This is the eleventh of my winter seasonal reviews.  At the Beer Blogger's Conference in Boulder, I tasted Widmer's Brrrbon, a bourbon barrel-aged version of this beer.  It was served to us by Rob Widmer himself!  Quite a treat for this beer geek!

The tasting:  Reddish orange in color with a white head that dissipated slowly, with some lacing.  Aroma of citrus (grapefruit) and piney hops.  The same citrus and piney hops are also present in taste, but there's also a solid caramel malt base and some spice in the finish.  Medium bodied.  It has a 7.2% ABV, but I didn't taste the alcohol at all.  So be careful with this one!

Rating:  4 star.  Really good!  I want this again!   I consider this to be a hoppy beer with a great malt base.  I really liked this beer a lot.  I finished it faster than I drink most of my beers.  Great job Kurt & Rob!  Now I need go find some more Brrrbon!
Have you tried Brrr?  How did you like it?
